Artist Statement
Art and life,
inseparable, sheds the ego and moves toward spiritual center, like a
meandering river, snaking towards ocean. Ocean, a
constant...center. The river, always a crooked path, eternal, wends
its way towards center. Towards home.
Randall uses form, bold color and
movement to produce strong, non-traditional, unique, transparent
watercolors and always searches for spiritual meaning in his work.
Recently Randall has begun using larger formats, four feet or more,
to expand his vision.
Randall
is not confined to any one style. His painting range from subtle
transparencies to the brilliant, almost opaque. The mountain and
desert landscapes around his Tucson home are frequent subjects.
Abstraction, symbolism and surrealistic paintings are also a part of
his oeuvre. Color, space and form are the dominate features of his
work.
